It’s business as usual at the Nyanga taxi rank in Cape Town after nine minibus taxis were damaged in a fire on Friday.
Taxi operators woke up to find several of their vehicles, including sprinter buses, destroyed in the blaze.
Firefighting teams were called to the scene just before 2 o’clock in the morning.
It’s still unclear what caused the fire.
Taxi association Cape Amalgamated Taxi Association (CATA) said if the blaze was started deliberately, those responsible must be arrested.

This is the second similar incident at the rank in just over a year.
In February last year, at least 16 minibuses and sprinter buses were destroyed in another fire.
The smell of burnt rubber still lingers in the air, but taxi operations have not been disrupted.
A handful of police officers and heavily armed security guards remain on the scene.
