Six schoolboys at Milnerton High have been expelled for alleged bullying.

The group of pupils is charged with various counts of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm.

They are set to return to the Cape Town Magistrates on Wednesday.

The charges relate to at least eight incidents of alleged assault on school grounds, including a video that went viral on social media.

When the six accused appeared in the Cape Town Magistrates court in January, the State requested more time to complete its investigation.

Prosecutor Ricardo Swarts told the court he needed to conduct consultations with the alleged victims who lodged criminal complaints against the six accused.

Swarts told the court that investigators were collecting evidence from the cellphones of the alleged victims and the accused.

Two accused minors who face the same charges in a separate court will also be back in the dock on Wednesday.
