The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry continues to probe links between suspected crime cartel bosses, and law enforcement as another senior police officer takes the witness stand on Monday.
Sergeant Fannie Nkosi, also known as Witness F, returns to the commission to respond to allegations that he acted as a conduit between suspected crime bosses and senior police officials.
Nkosi was previously given anonymity; however, he launched a court application last year not to testify at the commission, bringing his name into the public record.
He works at the South African Police Service (SAPS) Gauteng division for organised crime.
Nkosi is expected to shed light on several allegations against him.
Chief among them is that he allegedly took bribe money from suspected crime boss Katiso "KT" Molefe.
The Madlanga Commission has already seen CCTV footage showing Nkosi arriving at Molefe’s home empty-handed and leaving with a bag.
Nkosi is also suspected to be the conduit between the head of organised crime at SAPS, Richard Shibiri, and another suspected crime boss, Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala.
While Nkosi’s identity is now publicly known, he will be testifying virtually with only his voice broadcast.
