Tsakane Matlala, who stands accused of attempted murder, has confirmed that she has opened a case of harassment against Tebogo Thobejane.

The socialite is the primary complainant in the case where Matlala, her husband, Vusimuzi Matlala, and three others are accused of attempting to kill her.

Through her lawyer, Matlala claims she has been subjected to cyberbullying and intimidation by Thobejane following the attempted murder allegations that occurred between August 2022 and January 2024.

The five accused appeared before the Johannesburg High Court today, where their case was postponed to May.

During the proceedings, Tsakane Matlala confirmed she will no longer make representations to have the charges against her, including attempted murder, dropped.

Instead, she revealed that she has opened a criminal case at the Randburg Police Station against the very woman she is alleged to have tried to kill.

Matlala has accused Thobejane of defamation, intimidation, and cyberbullying. She claims that Thobejane has been "muddying the waters" by responding to the allegations on social media and labelling her a killer.

Matlala argues that such public labels are a direct violation of her legal rights.

Her lawyer, Hlawu Maluleke, stated that the case was opened on March 3 and is now in the hands of the authorities.

Maluleke noted that it is up to law enforcement to take the matter forward.

Currently, Matlala, her husband, Vusimuzi Matlala, and their three co-accused are facing a total of 25 charges. The allegations include 11 counts of attempted murder.
