The Mamelodi Magistrates Court on Thursday postponed the case against the man accused of killing two Mamelodi cousins.

In October last year, Tebogo Mnisi (38) was arrested for the murder of Tshiamo Moramaga (22) and Baleseng Moramaga (21), and the attempted murder of a man who was with the women at the time of the attack.

Mnisi has been in custody since his arrest after he abandoned his bail application.

He made a brief appearance in court, where it was revealed that the J88 form and one post-mortem report were outstanding.

National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson Lumka Mahanjana said the case would be back in court on 20 May.

"He is facing charges of two counts of premeditated murder of two female cousins from Mamelodi, attempted murder, and possession of an unlicensed firearm and possession of unlawful ammunition," said Mahanjana.

The matter was postponed for further investigation.
