Madlanga Commission to continue investigations during Easter break

The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry said work and investigations will continue behind the scenes amid the Easter break holiday.

The commission is on recess and will resume hearings on 7 April 2026.

Since it began its work in April last year, 49 people have testified before the commission on matters regarding possible criminal infiltration into the country’s law enforcement sector.

The commission’s spokesperson, Jeremy Michaels, said there are still “dozens” more witnesses who must testify.

“We certainly are satisfied with the progress is making. I don’t think people understand what is going on behind the scenes, the amount of work required in terms of investigations, the preparation the evidence leaders are undertaking before you see what unfolds publicly.

“There is a lot of work even as we take the Easter break. The investigators, evidence leaders, support teams will be working to ensure that when we resume on the 7th of April, we are running on full steam.”
