FlySafair is investigating a minor collision between an airstairs vehicle and one of its aircraft at Cape Town International Airport (CTIA).
It said the Boeing aircraft was parked at stand A9 on Monday when the airstairs vehicle made contact with the wing.
The airline's Maryke Pienaar said the collision caused a minor fuel leak, which was quickly covered in foam by airport fire and rescue.
She added that no passengers were on board at the time of the incident.
"Flight FA112, a Boeing 737-800, was parked at stand A9 when an airstairs vehicle made contact with the aircraft's right wing. The contact to the wing caused a minor fuel leak."
Pienaar said a substitute aircraft was arranged to operate the scheduled flight to OR Tambo International Airport to minimise disruptions.
She added that the safety of passengers remains their top priority.
"The incident is being investigated in line with standard aviation safety protocols, and the aircraft has been taken out of service pending a full technical inspection."
