The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has urged social grant beneficiaries to complete their annual e-life certification to avoid any payment disruptions.
The process, a legal requirement under the Social Assistance Act, allows the agency to confirm whether beneficiaries are still able and eligible to receive their grants.

All beneficiaries, regardless of the grant type, are required to complete the e-life certification via the SASSA online portal or at a SASSA walk-in branch.
“Avoid queues, do your life certification from anywhere at any time,” SASSA said.
Some beneficiaries may also be flagged for immediate verification and must comply within a specified timeframe.
“To avoid payment disruption, beneficiaries are urged to respond promptly to life certification requests and ensure their information is up to date.”
