Build One South Africa (BOSA) said that only the Democratic Alliance has opposed its Fair Pay Bill, accusing it of siding with business.

If passed, the amendment legislation will make it illegal for employers to request payment history and also compel employers to disclose the salary range in all job advertisements.

The party announced that the bill, officially referred to as the Employment Equity Amendment Bill, has been published in the government gazette, following a year of legal and public consultation on Thursday.

But BOSA deputy leader Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster said that their bill has substantive support from other parties that they've engaged, as well as the labour union federation COSATU.
