Appel debuts his new 80s inspired song ‘Alice’ exclusively on Kfm Mornings

Another hit from Appel called Alice just dropped exclusively on Kfm 94.5 - yay us!

The last time we saw Appel was live on stage at Galaxy KDay. Since then, he's been creating bop after bop and getting ready for the next big show, Afrikaans is Groot on 20 September, at DHL Stadium. 

The concert is a special tribute to Afrikaans' 100-year celebration as an official language in South Africa.

Appel's new single is inspired by the 80s music he listened to with his dad at parties with his friends.

"I put it into a pot and made a huge mix of 80s vibes and wrote this song... one of my dad's favourite tricks was when the party got too late, he would put the kids to bed while my mom spoke to the friends and then he went to sleep with me and my brother and leave my mom alone with the friends... my mom hated that. So, that's how we grew up... my dad was a huge part of the way I listened to music on the English side, and my mom was part of forming the Afrikaans side... I hope this really resonates with everybody who has a flair for the 80s side of music."
