CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town has launched the first-ever vehicle licensing renewal “drive-through” in Brackenfell.
The drive-through aims to be faster and more convenient for motorists to renew their vehicle license discs.
The new facility is situated on the corner of Reservoir and Kruispad Roads in Brackenfell.
The drive-through will operate Mondays to Fridays from 11:30 to 19:30 and Saturdays from 11:00 to 14:30.
MMC for Finance Counceller Siseko Mbandezi said they are working to extend the operating hours on weekdays.
“Now you can simply drive up, pay by your card, receive your new disc and be on your way. Our initial test indicated that a renewal process in a drive-through could take a motorist less than five minutes to renew their disc if all paperwork is correct.”
Mbandezi added that the drive-through will operate cashless and will accept debit and credit card payments.
“We encourage motorists to make use of the Brackenfell drive-through and experience the convenience of renewing your disc from the comfort of your vehicle.”
