Speaking on 702's Breakfast with Bongani Bingwa on Thursday morning, Motau emphasised the importance of safeguarding the integrity of the investigations.
He said that despite stepping aside because of administrative issues, amongst other concerns, Motau said he was confident that the commission would achieve the desired outcome.
"I have confidence in those that are left in the commission. I do not want to create an impression that I'm casting any aspersions on the commission; that's not what I want. My purpose is to explain things that haven't come out yet, for example, the timing of when I decided to leave the commission, which, up to this stage, it is assumed that it was a decision that was taken, as a sudden decision during the course of evidence being given, and it's not correct."
