Eight killed in Umlazi mass shooting

JOAHNNESBURG - Eight people have been shot and killed in a tavern in Umlazi.
 
It's understood the shooting took place on Friday night at U-section in the Durban township. 
 
Paramedics said it's not yet clear what transpired but when they arrived on the scene they found lifeless bodies outside the tavern.
 
Als paramedics spokesperson Gareth Jamieson said, "Paramedics arrived on scene to find saps already in attendance with the area cornered off and were shown to a side passage near what is believed to be a tavern, where the 8 people were found on the floor".

He added "six males and two females were declared deceased on the scene due to the multiple gunshot wounds they had sustained. At this stage the events leading up to the shooting is unknown however saps had cornered off the entire area and will be investigating further".
