The South African government has extended its congratulations to Qhawkezazi Mazaleni, who was crowned Miss South Africa 2025 at a glittering ceremony held at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria.
Mazaleni, who is 24 years old and originally from the Eastern Cape, was hailed for her poise, intelligence, and commitment to youth empowerment.

The government says Mazaleni's achievement has brought pride to the nation and underscores the strength and potential of the country's young women.
It also congratulated first runner-up Luyanda Zuma and Karabo Mareka, who finished as second runner-up, for what it described as "remarkable performances" during the competition.
Government spokesperson William Baloyi stated that beauty pageants play a crucial role in society.
"Beauty pageants such as Miss South Africa play an important role in uplifting the youth by promoting confidence, leadership, and social responsibility, while providing a platform for young women to advocate for change and make a meaningful impact in their communities. We say Halala!" Baloyi said.
