Despite Kaizer Chiefs’ positive start to the season and anticipation building for its first CAF Confederations Cup fixture, it appears Coach Nasreddine Nabi is on his way out.
Shocking rumours of his departure increased momentum on Wednesday (17 September).
Nabi recently returned after a visit to Tunisia due to a family emergency involving his wife, who was in a critical accident.
Dube says the coach has not officially parted ways with the club, but ‘it is heading there’.
Nabi has previously expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the team as well as its recruitment of players.
“... the club’s management and the coach, it’s a fractured relationship. There is no coming back from it.”

Dube debunks speculation that his departure is due to not having the correct qualifications ahead of the CAF Confederations Cup.
“That’s the most ridiculous thing that I have ever heard… Just three years ago, he was sitting here in a CAF Confederations Cup final for Young Africans… He holds a UEFA Pro license, which is the highest qualification.”

Nabi was appointed in July last year, and he has made great strides at the AmaKhosi, securing their first domestic trophy after over a decade.
He still has a year remaining on his contract.
