On Friday, the United Nation's top court once again ruled that Israel must work to minimise human suffering and rein in the death toll in Gaza.
More than 35 000 deaths have so far been reported.

Pandor says she is pleased that this judgement appears stronger in its wording and clearer than the initial ruling by the court.
“The court is as concerned as we are at the ongoing onslaught of the people of Palestine.”

She says that Israel has been acting with 'impunity' and has 'no interest in saving lives'.
This is particularly evident with the disruption of aid getting through to Gaza, she says.
“I have not seen such levels of cruelty in my lifetime. I am really horrified by what is underway in the occupied territory of Palestine.”

Pandor hopes that the world will be more decisive in dealing with Palestine after South Africa’s actions at the ICJ.
