The Traffic Fine roadshow, the first for the new financial year, will run from Friday, 12 September until Thursday, 18 September.
It’s an opportunity for motorists to settle outstanding fines and warrants in a central location. Read more below:
The Traffic Fine Roadshows are incredibly popular, largely because they offer the motoring public an opportunity to settle fines and warrants in one place, and make representations for reduced fine payments.
In the last two years, the Traffic Service, in collaboration with the City’s Legal and Revenue Services, have ramped up the frequency of the roadshows from one or two a year to as many as four or five a year.
The latest roadshow will be held at the Parow Civic on the corner of Voortrekker and Talent Street:
- Friday, 12 September: 8:30 am until 2:30 pm - this date is only for City staff and members of the public with bulk, i.e. 20 or more representation applications.
- Saturday, 13 September: 8 am to 1:30 pm.
- Monday, 15 to Thursday, 18 September: 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.
"The roadshows circumvent what can be a fairly onerous process, particularly for motorists who have fines or warrants in different magisterial districts. Under normal circumstances, they’d have to go to specific municipal courts, but at the roadshow, there are no boundaries. There is also the option of on-the-spot fine reductions, which is the other reason why these events are so popular."
- JP Smith, Mayoral Committee Member - Safety and Security
The roadshow management team may amend start/end times as/when required, based on operational requirements.
Daily, the first 280 persons in the queue will be assisted. Those still in the queue after this point will receive a ticket to return the following day, and will be allowed to move to the front of the queue on presentation of their ticket.
This will be the third roadshow for 2025 – the first two, held in Parow in March and Lentegeur in May, attracted just shy of 6,500 people who made 70,650 representations to the value of R28,5 million.
