25 people killed on WC roads in last week

CAPE TOWN - Twenty-five people have been killed on Western Cape roads in the past week.
Seven drivers, 13 pedestrians, four passengers and one motorcyclist were among those killed across the province.
Thirty-six drunk drivers and ten drivers with fraudulent documents were also arrested.
The Western Cape Mobility Department said that between 29 January and 4 February, provincial traffic officers conducted more than 200 roadblocks across the province.
More than 23,000 cars were checked and 6,000 fines were issued for various traffic violations.
Fourteen vehicles were impounded and almost 300 speeding offences were recorded.
Sixty-three road users were nabbed for various offences, including drunk driving, speeding, overloading and illegal possession of abalone among other things.
