DURBAN - Two people have been shot and killed in uMhlathuze, in north-eastern KwaZulu-Natal (KZN).
Eyewitness News understands that the shooting between two bodyguards happened on Thursday morning at the municipal head office in Richards Bay.
It’s understood that the two shot each other while officials were inside the building in a caucus meeting discussing a draft budget.
The municipality confirmed the shooting and expressed condolences.
Law enforcement agencies and emergency services were at the scene collecting evidence.
Police are investigating the circumstances around the shooting.
