CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town is urging the public to plan their travel routes to and from the inner city on Wednesday – as the cruise ship MSC Splendida makes its return to Table Bay Harbour.
This is in a bid to avoid heavy traffic congestion in and around the city leading to the cruise terminal.
Mayco Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith shared a few tips.
"To ensure smooth and hassle-free travel, I encourage residents to consider using the MyCiTi bus service, ridesharing and alternative routes into town. Travelling early can also significantly alleviate congestion."
Smith said traffic services will be assisting at key intersections to ensure traffic flow.
“As the City of Cape Town, we are committed to ensuring the accessibility and efficiency of our transportation networks. I have requested the provincial minister to schedule a meeting... By working together, we can enhance the overall experience for everyone visiting our cruise terminal."
