AKA, Tibz murder case: One accused asks to open case against investigating officer

3 April 2024 | 4:52The accused, Lindani Mkhwanazi, made the request on Tuesday during his appearance in court with his four other accused in the 2023 murders of Tibz and AKA in Durban.
DURBAN - One of the men accused of killing rapper Kiernan "AKA" Forbes and Tebello "Tibz" Motsoane has asked to open a case against the investigating officer in the matter.
Lindani Mkhwanazi made the request on Tuesday in the Durban Magistrates Court.

He appeared in court with four others accused of killing Tibz and AKA in Durban in 2023.
Mkhwanazi, accused one, currently seeking bail on the murder cases, said investigating officer Warrant Kumarasan Pillay lied about him having an unlicensed firearm.
He said he wanted to open a criminal case docket of perjury and defeating the ends of justice against the officer.
Mkhwanazi’s lawyer said his client received other deposits from accused four, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, before 11 February.
The case was postponed to 8 April for accused two and four to respond to the State.
