BLOEMFONTEIN - The African National Congress (ANC) continues to lead on the results board in the Free State.

The ruling party has been leading since the actual vote counting started in its birth province.

Although it’s still too early to predict who will emerge victorious, the party is enjoying a high number of votes both at the provincial and regional level there, with 24% of the votes cast having been counted at the results operation centre in Bloemfontein.

By Thursday morning, only 100 368 votes had been counted in the province, with the ANC sitting comfortably with 53 817 votes, followed by the DA at 21 129 and the EFF with 11 969 votes.

Regionally it’s gained over 40,000 followed by the DA with 18,000 and then the red berets with over 10,0000.

As voting continues, and with the numbers trickling in – all eyes are cast on the ever-changing results board.
