JOHANNESBURG - Alleged killer nurse, Sithembile Happiness Xulu, accused of killing her 21-year-old domestic, Busiswa Nxumalo, over a R6 million payout is back in court on Tuesday.
Xulu appeared before the Lenasia Magistrate's Court on Friday on a charge of fraud, with the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) set to add more charges against her soon.
According to police, in January 2022, Xulu allegedly took out three life cover policies with three different insurers on Nxumalo before allegedly slitting her throat and dumping her body.
The Alberton nurse's appearance was brief but drama followed moments after she stepped off the dock as a close relative of Xulu was arrested outside the court.
The number of suspects arrested in connection with the gruesome murder now sits at three after police arrested another suspect on the morning of Xulu's appearance last week.
Magistrate Maggy van der Merwe postponed proceedings to allow for bail application and further investigations.
The matter continues on Tuesday.
