Gauteng government spokesperson, Sizwe Pamla said the province would alert residents on when to expect Lesufi’s cabinet announcement.
“We are waiting for the political principals to update us. Remember, we only deal with things from an administrative side, we are not involved in matters that are political.”
Al Jama-ah leader Ganief Hendricks, whose party has signed the GNU’s statement of intent said the appointment of MECs was delayed by talks at a national level.
“We are not perturbed by the delay because we understand he has to go through ten parties and that there is a parallel process between the DA [Democratic Alliance] and the other parties. So, it is not a surprise to us that there has been a delay because it’s all interconnected.”
