JOHANNESBURG - Just three weeks after his appointment, the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party's secretary general, Arthur Zwane, has resigned.
Zwane has cited the large volume of his work and other business interests as the reason for his resignation.
In his letter, Zwane said he is available to help with other organisational matters but only on a part-time basis.
MK Party spokesperson Nhlamulo Ndhela said Zwane remains a member of the organisation and will be redeployed.
“Everyone is a volunteer and people within the organisation, especially with leadership, get redeployed into areas that can use them even better. As you would know, Sihle Ngubane, the previous SG, moved from the party and from being SG to taking up a role as chief whip. So, there’s going to be a lot of movements and people being redeployed in various positions.”
