JOHANNESBURG - The Democratic Alliance (DA) and African National Congress (ANC) in Gauteng are set to meet on Monday afternoon to discuss a potential coalition arrangement to govern the City of Tshwane.
The DA has approached the ANC to maintain control of the metro following ActionSA's decision to end their partnership.
While ActionSA is also looking to form a coalition with the ANC, no agreement has been reached regarding the future of Tshwane’s government.
DA provincial chairperson, Solly Msimanga, expects a decision to be made on Tuesday concerning the metro's future.
"The engagements are happening, at least from our side, happening in earnest and in honesty. Hopefully, that will result in the formation of something that can see us bringing stability through to the next local government election. Whether the ANC will come to the party on this is something I cannot assure but as I said, the conversations are ongoing."
