N3 between Durban & Pietermaritzburg closed following multi-vehicle crash

DURBAN - The N3 highway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg in KwaZulu-Natal has been closed due to a multiple-vehicle crash involving trucks.

A number of people have sustained injuries following the crash just near the Hammersdale off-ramp.

Emergency services are on the scene, attending to the situation.

"At this stage, multiple vehicles have been involved and closed the entire N3 towards Pietermaritzburg with excess of about four trucks and four light motor vehicles involved in this collision. Multiple casualties are being attended to, with more resources being dispatched to assist," said ALS paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
