Baragwanath hospital welcomes 13 New Year’s Day babies – and counting
Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko has encouraged mothers to register their children right after birth and have timely immunisation for their little ones.

JOHANNESBURG - The Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital in Soweto has welcomed 13 New Year’s babies thus far.
Gauteng Health MEC Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko has encouraged mothers to register their children right after birth and have timely immunisation for their little ones.

Nkomo-Ralehoko also welcomes the opening of the upgraded neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at the facility.
The Gauteng Health Department’s spokesperson Motalatale Modiba: "The NICU has undergone major upgrades to increase its capacity from 18 to 30 beds, providing an additional 12 beds to better accommodate newborns in need of specialised care."
