DURBAN - The State in the murder case of rapper Kiernan Forbes and celebrity chef, Tebello Motsoane, said that the safety of witnesses remained a concern.
Prosecutor, advocate Elvis Gcweka, was responding to the re-application of bail by two of the accused in the matter.
In their affidavits, accused 4, Mziwethemba Gwabeni, and accused 5, Lindokuhle Ndimande, said they would not tamper with any witnesses.

However, Gcweka said there was no assurance that the witness may not be harmed.
"This issue remains a concern to the State; it does not mean that because the investigation is completed the witnesses will not be approached or threatened in the minimal or eliminated in the extreme."
Gcweka added that until the case was finalised, the safety of witnesses remained a worry.
"In fact, once the docket copies are disclosed, there will be more reasons to have witnesses’ wellbeing or safety taken care of - the wellbeing and the safety of the witnesses in this matter remains a great concern until such time that this matter is finalised," Gcweka said.
