JOHANNESBURG - Umalusi, the council for quality assurance in general and further education and training, said that they were awaiting a report from the Department of Basic Education regarding allegations of matric results being leaked and sold online.
On Sunday, it emerged that matric learners were able to secure their results on a website for R100.
During a briefing in Pretoria on Monday morning, Umalusi CEO, Dr Mafu Rakometsi, urged the department to investigate the leak.
"We have requested the department to investigate and once they have investigated, they will provide us with information and we will look at that information because clearly our protocols have been breached here in terms of our approval. If the results were released anytime earlier than today, then that is irregular."
