JOHANNESBURG - The court interdict against King Misuzulu kaZwelithini’s wedding will continue despite cancelling the ceremony.
Queen Ntokozo Mayisela - the first wife of the Zulu monarch - has approached the court to stop the wedding set for this coming Friday.
The queen said the monarch cannot enter into another marriage, be it civil or customary, whilst their civil marriage subsists.
On Sunday, King Misuzulu announced that the wedding was off, but the litigation would continue despite this.
While King Misuzulu cancelled the anticipated royal wedding, Mayisela’s lawyers will argue with the King in the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Monday.
The queen seeks to prevent the monarch from marrying another woman while their civil marriage stands.
