JOHANNESBURG - Operations at the Grobler’s Bridge port of entry into Botswana have resumed after temporary closures were placed earlier in January.
The bridge had suffered infrastructural damage due to floods caused by heavy rainfall.
The Border Management Authority (BMA)’s commissioner said the temporary suspension was necessary for restorations on the bridge to be conducted.
BMA spokesperson Mmemme Mogotsi says the port is now safe for use.
“The safety of all port users remains our top priority. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of the public and transport operators during this challenging period.”
