Kfm's Carl Wastie speaks to Ross Learmonth about his solo career and his new single 'Opposites'.
Listen below:Â
Ross Learmonth, the former lead singer of Prime Circle, has gone solo and the new music has been PUMPING!
Learmonth says going solo means continuing to write music 'with sentiment' which means he needs to believe what he is singing, sing differently, and approach new music 'by telling new stories in a different light'.
Learmonth's new musical journey includes attaining many new musical layers which rings true with 'Opposites'.
The single is all about embracing differences and being attracted to the opposites - it's giving... that saying about attraction - Learmonth is all about it in this upbeat song.
"I always pull from my life, for me, I've done an opposite turn on myself as well and I needed that support from the love of my life, she definitely helped me. It's very hard to do it alone and I couldn't have done it without her. Our dynamic was very different. She was coming from a very healthy, very different aspect to me... So, opposites do attract and sometimes the complete opposite of what you think you need or what you want will be the thing that sets you free or unlocks something in you."
- Ross Learmonth
"It's one of the happiest songs I've ever written, I think."
