Joburg police probing murder of Katlehong pupil

JOHANNESBURG - Johannesburg police are investigating the murder of a pupil who was shot dead at Katlehong, south of the city.  

It is understood that two armed men tried to rob the 17-year-old in her yard on Monday.  

The men were then seen running towards a car, which they used as a getaway vehicle, after killing the girl.  

“Two armed men were seen running towards a charcoal Toyota Quest vehicle, which they drove off with after the shooting,” said police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.  

“The motive of the shooting is unknown at this stage, and no one has been arrested. The police request anyone with information that can assist with the investigations to contact the nearest police station.”
