JOHANNESBURG - The South African Weather Service issued a yellow level one warning for disruptive rainfall for parts of Gauteng on Wednesday.
The showers expected for Wednesday evening are anticipated to continue into Thursday morning.
Edward Engelbrecht said that the northern parts of the province were already facing intermittent thunder showers and some parts of the province were already facing intermittent showers.
"For Gauteng this afternoon, we do have a 60% chance of thunderstorms over southern parts of Gauteng, especially Johannesburg. Currently, there are thunderstorms in the area for this afternoon into the evening."
