JOHANNESBURG - Joburg residents and motorists are urged to exercise caution on Wednesday evening following heavy rain in parts of the city.
Flash flooding was reported in low lying areas, causing heavily backed-up traffic.
While no incidents have been reported, Joburg Emergency Services said they were on high alert.
EMS spokesperson Robert Mulaudzi: "Our motorists are urged to exercise caution while driving, avoid crossing flooded roads and low-lying bridges. Our residents in low-lying areas are urged to avoid crossing river streams while conducting their daily activities."
