Limpopo teacher on the run after allegedly raping learner (13)

JOHANNESBURG - In Limpopo, a teacher who allegedly raped a 13-year-old learner is currently on the run. 

Police said the 58-year-old suspect drove off under the pretence of going to the police station. 

The mother was later informed by another teacher about her daughter’s ordeal.

According to preliminary investigations, the 13-year-old was raped several times since November 2024. 

The teacher is reported to have fled the province to Pretoria.

“A case of rape was registered for further investigation. The suspect drove off with his vehicle under the pretence that he was going to the police station,” said spokesperson Hlulani Mashaba.
