Truck crash near Van Reenen's Pass causes severe delays along N3 toll route

JOHANNESBURG - Motorists travelling along the N3 toll route have been warned to expect severe delays after a crash near Van Reenen's Pass set two trucks alight and blocked the road completely.
The incident has caused gridlock traffic between Cedara in KwaZulu-Natal and Heidelberg in Gauteng, with the Tugela toll plaza now closed to northbound traffic.
Emergency crews and road incident teams are on the scene, but the N3 Toll Concession said the road may be closed for several hours.
Toll Concession’s Thania Dhoogra said motorists should postpone travel if possible.
"Motorists are advised to please delay travel to the area if possible and to please remain patient as emergency services are working to restore traffic flow as quickly and safely as possible."
