JOHANNESBURG - Musi Comprehensive High School pupils in Pimville, Soweto are calling for the University of Johannesburg to help with the funeral arrangements for a learner who was allegedly murdered by a group of UJ students.
The grade 11 pupil was allegedly attacked and killed earlier this week.
Police arrested two students who appeared in Lenasia Magistrates Court on Thursday.
Angry students from Musi Comprehensive High School gathered outside UJ’s Soweto campus.
A learner from the school was reportedly attacked by a group of students who were allegedly drunk.
It is understood that a fight ensued after the UJ students bullied a group of high schoolers who were on their way back home.
Protester Sebata Tsoanetse said: "When they arrived there, that's when the whole fight started, broke out. Then, unfortunately, one of theirs lost a life. One was injured."
Students said all they wanted was for the institution to take accountability for the loss they have suffered.
Police are monitoring the protest.
