Cape Town’s disaster risk management centre is advising the public to stay indoors where possible, avoid elevated areas, secure outdoor furniture, and be alert to the risk of flying debris.

Although no weather-related emergencies have been reported so far, the centre said it remains on high alert.

Spokesperson Charlotte Powell has also warned residents to be extra cautious along the coast, where conditions could become dangerous.

"If you're near the coastline, be careful, as the forecast includes damaging waves. For any weather-related emergencies call the city's public emergency communication centre.”
