JOHANNESBURG - The Boksburg Magistrates Court has postponed to Friday the bail application of a man accused of raping and impregnating an 11-year-old girl.
The 28-year-old man made a brief appearance before the lower court on Wednesday; however, his matter was delayed.
His application comes as the family of the minor makes desperate pleas for the man to remain in custody, fearing that he may flee the country should he be released.
But his continued stay still gives little solace to the family of the minor, who will soon be a mother.

Her aunt, who staged a protest outside the court and recalls her pregnancy, says she is struggling to wrap her head around the painful experience for her niece.
"I remember I was pregnant myself. I'm a big person, but I reached a point where I couldn't even carry my legs to walk, so this child is an 11-year-old who can't, you know, we don't know."
