DURBAN - The Public Servants' Association (PSA) in KwaZulu-Natal is demanding full accountability from the management at Prince Mshiyeni Hospital, where a young man died while on duty.
Intern doctor Alulutho Mazwi died while on shift last week, allegedly after being forced by his supervisor to work despite reporting that he was unwell.
The association held a march to the hospital in Umlazi, south of Durban, on Tuesday.
PSA KZN organiser Xolani Dlamini said they want urgent intervention on the matter.

"Years of unresolved complaints about the bullying, overwork and leadership failure, we demand an urgent political, administrative and legal intervention."
Dlamini adds that the health department must account for the alleged mistreatment of junior workers.
“Comrades, we demand on the interns and juniors doctors' protection; a public apology and acknowledgment from the Department of Health for the system abuse and toxic treatment of interns."
KZN Health MEC Nomagugu Simelane said the department is investigating the tragic death of the intern doctor.
