JOHANNESBURG - Police have confirmed that only one person has been injured during Tuesday's shootout at the Meyerton taxi rank.
The security guard, who was on his first day of duty, has been taken to hospital.
According to police, two rival security companies exchanged gunfire just earlier, turning the busy transport hub into a war zone.
They've also dismissed reports that a teenage girl was shot in the crossfire, saying the student simply scratched her calf while trying to get away from the scene.
