CAPE TOWN - Cape Town police on Tuesday confiscated a consignment of drugs that was likely meant for inmates at a prison.
Officers at the Wynberg Magistrates Court received an anonymous tip-off about the narcotics, and this led to a search of the court’s holding cells.
During the search, police found small quantities of dagga bullets, mandrax tablets, as well as tik.
Police spokesperson Malcolm Pojie says the suspects will appear in the same court once charged.
"The members also confiscated liquor which was concealed in small sanitiser bottles as well as Xanex tablets and a few packets of cigarettes. As a result of the discovery, the members arrested two male detainees, aged 25 and 38, for the possession of drugs."
