JOHANNESBURG - A digital forensic analyst is under cross-examination in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, fielding questions on photos that were downloaded on one of the alleged intruder’s phones.
The court is dealing with data from Bongani Ntanzi’s phone as the state sought to compare his appearance to the description given by witnesses.
Ntanzi is one of five men being tried for the football star’s 2014 murder.
Warrant Officer Lawrence Ndlovu confirmed to the court that the data presented in court is the same as the cellphone downloads he conducted in 2021.
But lawyer for the defence, Advocate Charles Mnisi, questioned how he would know.
"There is no need to compare each page, if I have checked that from page 1 it ends on page 5,000, then I go to the CD I burned and compare it to the main source, then I know it’s the same."

On Wednesday, the court was shown a picture of guns and bullets in a cartridge from Ntanzi’s phone during Ndlovu’s cross-examination.
His lawyer, Sipho Ramosepele, threw questions at him about the origin of the picture.
