The retired top cop passed away about two-weeks ago at the age of 63.
Lincoln served in the South African Police Service for 39 years, including three years at the helm of the Western Cape’s anti-gang unit.
Boesak urged mourners to continue the work Lincoln started.
"But his fight was so clear, his dedication was so unshakable, his love was so pure because his heart was so pure that even though he is gone we can be strengthened."
Boesak added that Lincoln’s mission lives on.
"And what shall we do with the broken hearts of his people that he loved so dearly? I think there is only one response to that and that is that we shall go out and once again stand for what Andre Lincoln stood for, fight for what Andre Lincoln fought for."
