JOHANNESBURG - The Pretoria High Court on Tuesday will hear the testimony of the investigating officer in the case of a former PRASA security guard accused of raping 37 women.
Sipho Phiri faces 117 charges, including rape and kidnapping of 37 women.
Phiri was arrested in 2023 after a crime spree that started in 2018.
The alleged serial rapist had targeted women in Daveyton and Tembisa.
The court heard that Phiri's modus operandi was offering women a lift and when they got into his car, he would threaten them with a gun before raping them.
Some of his victims are 14 years old.
An investigating officer from the Benoni family violence and child protection and sexual offences unit will be testifying on Tuesday.
The officer forms part of more than 40 witnesses that have testified in this trial.
