[WATCH] Chief Tyali: The man who donated land for Fort Hare University
The final resting place of Chief Mkrazuli Tyali, who donated land that would later house the renowned University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape - lies in a neglected state. His historic landmark in Hogsback, known as “the great place” is in a dilapidated state, and has sparked great outcry from community members who say the site has failed to honour his rich legacy.

As the country commemorates 70 years of the Freedom Charter, Tyali’s family has criticised the current government, accusing it of failing to recognise Tyali’s contribution towards a democratic South Africa.
