The Mitchell’s Plain community policing forum met with residents from neighbouring areas on Saturday to discuss ways to tackle the escalating violence.

CPF Chairperson Norman Jantjes said that poor police investigations are allowing criminals to escape justice.

"We are asking that police improve their level of intelligence so that they can anticipate these upsurges in gun violence, we are asking them to really look at improving or increasing the resources and the skill levels of detectives.”
