JOHANNESBURG - The state has been given two weeks to relinquish the docket in its entirety in the attempted murder case of tenderpreneur, Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
The controversial businessman appeared before the Alexandra Magistrates Court on Friday.
He is accused of conspiring to commit murder in the failed hit of his ex-girlfriend, actress Tebogo Thobejane, in 2023.
Matlala walked into the packed court in handcuffs while the room was heavily guarded by armed members of the special task force.
The presiding officer heard arguments by the state and the defence on the dockets.
Matlala’s legal counsel was seeking the full disclosure of the docket, including parts B and C.
They argued that only sections of part A had been disclosed and accused the state of trying to ambush them in the case.
The state was ordered to hand over copies of the full docket to the defence within two weeks.
The matter was remanded until 26 August.
